JANSON Hired for Major Facilities Modernization Project for the U.S. Army Soldier Lethality

WASHINGTON, DC – JANSON is proud to announce its facilities modernization project for the U.S. Army’s Project Manager Soldier Lethality (PM SL) at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Designed to improve everything from Soldier and civilian workspaces to large dual classification (SIPR/NIPR) conference rooms, JANSON is responsible for creating collaborative work areas that meet the needs of current safety guidelines, while modernizing the overall look and feel of all the office areas, hallways and conference rooms throughout the building.

“We wanted to create an inspiring space for our workforce to return to the office post-pandemic – and that is exactly what JANSON was able to do in the overhaul of our building,” said Barbara Muldowney, Deputy PdM Individual Weapons. “JANSON was successful in taking our mission, vision, and goals and developed a clean, modern look and feel that is realized throughout our entire facility while incorporating who we are, what we provide the Soldier and our alignment with the Army.”

The outdated workspace is being transformed into a clean, appealing office environment with collaboration zones, fresh modern color schemes and new LED lighting to inspire creativity – all while ensuring the U.S. Army branding was front and center throughout the building. With the pandemic in full swing during this effort, JANSON put special attention on new guidelines and safety measures to include wipeable surfaces and more open areas for their workforce.

“This is a very exciting project that will have a significant impact on PM SL’s workforce” said Janet Chihocky, CEO of JANSON. “Here you have a historic location that has been advancing Soldier lethality since 1892.  We got to work with the Deputy PdM and her team at PM SL along with our highly specialized team of industrial designers, space planners and technology specialists to create a design approach that ensured a brighter, open and more spacious workspace area for the staff in a modernized environment that frankly reinforced the amazing work and products the workforce generates as the Home of Army Lethality.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, JANSON is honored to announce its $10,000 grant to Natick, MA-based nonprofit Family Promise Metrowest (FPM) for their Shelter program.

“JANSON is honored to be able to extend our support to Family Promise Metrowest,” says Janet Chihocky, CEO of JANSON. “In every state where we conduct business, JANSON searches for local entities who share a similar mission to ours – making an impact in the lives of others. We are thankful to have found FPM in Massachusetts and have the ability to bless their community.”

FPM’s cornerstone Shelter program serves families with children that have lost their housing, providing safe shelter, meals, clothing, and supportive case management so families can address the root causes of their housing instability and set goals for future sustainability.

Like most areas and shelters, the shelter has been put to the test during the pandemic. FPM skillfully pivoted its programming to remote services and successfully raised emergency funding to bring immediate relief and stability to the families that were currently being served. In 2020, FPM served a record-breaking 50 families, including 58 parents and 89 children that were facing homelessness.

“FPM is currently on track to double the number of families we served last year. Increasing our resources and community support is essential in order to meet the great need.  We are so grateful for JANSON Communication’s generosity,” said Susan Crossley, Family Promise Metrowest Executive Director.

Family Promise Metrowest serves low- and moderate-income Massachusetts families with at least one child under the age of 18 that are facing homelessness. With the help of a diverse community, FPM provides resources, guidance, and encouragement to help motivated families meet their goals, move themselves out of poverty, and become self-sufficient.
