JANSON’s History

  • 1998

    JANSON began in a small office in Manassas, VA, in 1998, with its first client in the aerospace industry – Space Systems Loral. Word spread of the quality of its marketing communications expertise, and the organization began to grow.

  • 2000

    Janet becomes the 100 percent shareholder of JANSON.

  • 2003

    Six months after 9/11, JANSON was on the verge of having to close its doors. Prayer, hard work, and cost-cutting resulted in the company weathering this nationwide horrific economic storm.

  • 2004

    JANSON wins a major marketing and advertising contract for (then) DRS Technologies.

  • 2006

    JANSON’s roster included its first Army client (Tooele Army Depot), and within a few years, it added more U.S. Army clients, such as PEO Soldier and many others. Now, projects have expanded beyond communications strategies to encompass new and more branded environments and facilities modernization, all focused on telling the client’s story in the most effective way possible.

  • 2010

    JANSON won its first facilities branding/modernization contract for Army Materiel Command when AMC was under the leadership of the first female four star of the U.S. Army Forces, GEN Ann Dunwoody.

  • 2017

    JANSON wins a sole-sourced contract to modernize Army Sustainment Command located at Rock Island Arsenal. And, in close partnership with CALIBRE, JANSON provides market analytics and branding consulting services for several Depots and Arsenals in support of the Army’s Organic Industrial Base.

  • 2019

    JANSON’s customized communication capabilities expanded to other DoD clients such as the Marines. Meanwhile, the company continued to expand its work with the Army and with select commercial defense companies.

  • 2022

    JANSON opens an office in Atlanta, GA, as the hub for company’s industrial design and digital experiences capabilities.

  • 2023

    JANSON focuses on four primary domains: Buildings & Environments, Customized Communications, Digital Experiences, and Strategy & Support. From its two-person beginning, JANSON has increased to more than 40 full-time employees and a presence in Fairfax, VA; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Picatinny, NJ; and Huntsville, AL.

  • 2024

    Former Assistant Program Executive Officer for the U.S. Army PEO STRI and Acquisition Comptroller, Christina Manol, joins JANSON as Chief Operating Officer.
